Local healthcare is better healthcare

A huge thanks to Carla Caldwell! You will be missed.

Carla Caldwell, retiring Director of Jefferson Healthcare Foundation, leaves behind a transformative legacy after leading the effort to bring radiation oncology services to the community. Best known for her determination, grace, and inclusive approach to community engagement, Carla championed the successful LINAC campaign and fostered a welcoming foundation culture.

A few words from our JH Board members:
  • Carla was determined that we would get this done!
  • Carla is incredibly gracious and flexible, and she sees that there are many ways for people to be involved in community - even if they don't have endless time and resources.
  • Working with the Foundation and with Carla felt kind of like coming home, even though I was new to the community.

There will never be enough words to thank Carla for leading and accomplishing this large goal to bring the LINAC and radiation oncology to our community. She leaves a legacy that will have great impact as the Foundation continues to grow, evolve, and find new ways to help make local healthcare better healthcare.

In Carla's own words:

What a privilege it has been to meet you or to get to know you better through the campaign. Many of you shared personal and inspirational stories with me or a board member about journeys through cancer treatment that you or a loved one experienced, often expressing deep appreciation for a particular provider.  In response, the foundation recently initiated a Grateful Patient Program so people who wish to honor a Jefferson Healthcare provider can do so through a gift to the foundation.

Mike Glenn’s ability (along with his C-suite staff and administrative teams) to envision and to implement ongoing expansion of local healthcare services astounds me. No matter the demands on Mike, he dedicates regular consulting time to foundation leadership while his team members are readily available to assist the foundation as needed. In addition, the elected commissioners have representation on the foundation’s Board of Directors.

Thank you all for your commitment to ensure that everyone in our wonderful Jefferson County community has access to quality healthcare.
