Jefferson Healthcare Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose mission is to enhance the excellence of our region’s medical services through charitable contributions and community involvement. We want to ensure that more patients can find the care they need right here at home, for preventive care or when ill and and vulnerable. People heal best with their families, loved ones, and support networks nearby.
Our purpose is to raise money through donations, grants, special events, capital campaigns, and planned giving– in support of the projects, programs, and people of our local hospital and clinics. As a small, rural, "critical access" hospital system, Jefferson Healthcare has limited funds for capital needs and other special expenses. Generous giving to the Foundation directly addresses these needs.
In recent years, donors to Jefferson Healthcare Foundation
empowered the purchase of a 3-D mammography machine and a nuclear camera
reinvigorated the Cardiac Rehabilitation program
sponsored a new infant warmer for the Family Birth Center
raised funds for echocardiography and charity care for heart patients at our 2021 Well Hearts Luncheon
raised funds to replace the advanced life-saving defibrillators throughout the medical campus, and
provided financial aid for childcare costs for Jefferson Healthcare employees
In 2023 we began our biggest fundraising project to date, raising $2.5 million dollars for a Linear Accelerator for radiation oncology. We have raised $1.25 million to date, and we hope you'll help us raise the rest!
The Jefferson Cancer Treatment Project will provide access to comprehensive, quality cancer care in Jefferson County. Although Jefferson Healthcare provides excellent cancer diagnosis, surgery, and chemotherapy, they cannot currently offer radiation oncology, a critical cancer treatment modality. Residents in our community and their families must travel significant distances for very brief visits to receive radiation treatment. These visits can take more than 2-3 hours round trip as residents must drive into neighboring counties, across the Hood Canal Bridge, and back. The Jefferson Cancer Treatment Project will change the quality of care for many people in our community.
